There’s a new cool way to save money when you shop! It’s a smartphone app called Ibotta, and we’re going to explain how it works and why you should install it ASAP! Ibotta is an app for Apple or Android phones that offers earning opportunities to members just for buying their favorite products.

To earn money with Ibotta, you’re required to complete two steps:

1. Browse products within the app and complete tasks like answering a poll, learning a fact, watching a video, or sharing a link on Facebook
2. Purchase the product next time you go shopping and use your phone to upload the UPC code and receipt to Ibotta (this is done within the app)

When your UPC and receipt submission are verified and accepted, you’ll earn cash back! When your Ibotta account reaches $5, you can have the money transferred to your PayPal account or donated to a school.

How can you make Ibotta work for you? Well first of all, you’ll only want to complete offers for products you would normally purchase. If you’re not interested in the current selection of products, you can be assured that new ones will be added soon, so check the app often for updates.

Using Ibotta is completely separate from coupons. You may continue to use coupons as you normally would AND earn cash back from Ibotta on the same item. Sometimes this might even result in a overage if your coupon and Ibotta rebate exceed the cost of the item!

Earning $0.25, $0.50, $0.75 here and there doesn’t sound like much, but it does add up over time. If you’re already a couponer, you might as well reduce your grocery expenses a little more! Ibotta accepts purchases from these stores, just to name a few:

• Walgreens
• CVS
• Walmart
• Rite-Aid
• Target
• 7-Eleven
